Tesla unveils new 4680 battery cell: bigger, 6x power, and 5x energy

A 16% range improvement is respectable. What’s more interesting is perhaps how they managed to lower the manufacturing cost.<p>Automated rolling with fewer steps?

Can anyone explain why 5x the energy yields only 16% greater range?
