One way the author is concise in this piece is just leaving out words that are actually needed for the sentence to make sense and get the reader to just imagine they are there:<p>"The goal of most conversations (or a piece of writing) should be easy to understand for the readers."<p>That says that the goal should be something the readers understand. I think he means is "the goal of most conversations (or pieces of writing) should be for them to be easy to understand for the readers."<p>(ie the reader should understand the conversation, not the reader should understand the goal).<p>There are lots of examples in here.
