Starlink is coming. It definitely won't solve every problem, but it will help to put pressure on the existing telecom companies.
This is controversial, but the best way to get rid of lobbying is to remove the source of that lobbying, which is centralized political power, concentrated into federal agencies such as the FCC.
Big companies such as Comcast are masters at regulation and lobbying. They absolutely love it, want more: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2019/05/comcast-does-so-...

If you and your partner both spent 40 hours every single week on Zoom with 1080p cameras, that's still less than 1 TB of data. The cap is 1.2 TB, and you can get around it by paying an extra $25. It's hard to think of actual cases where this hurts people working from home.
There are certainly ways to go over that cap, but just doing your regular office or programming job from home doesn't seem like the best way to do it.
I guess my point is, yeah, by all means screw Comcast, but the linked article is misleading in its headline.

They know people who can work from home will either pay it or push their companies to. A cynic might argue they would leave money on the table if they didn't do this.
Of course the kind and compassionate thing to do would not act in a predatory manner towards your customers, but I've given up hoping for that sort of thing from them.

uhh I can't wait for starlink to just eradicate Comcast from existence.
