I went ahead an enrolled. It should be worth $5-$10 for me next year.

I just launched my first free app and was struggling with an approach to monetize it. I just didn't want to pay Apple 30% for displaying in app purchases, when I don't even want in app purchases. I really just want to direct users to my website and handle the payments that way, but that's not allowed. Paying 15% rather than 30% is much more palatable.

So as a developer, I will need to reapply every year to get the benefits and if I miss the window to apply, I will continue to have to pay 30% for the remainder of the year? Why can’t they just automatically apply it to all eligible developers?

This is kinda huge for me. My app sales dropped by 70% since March.

98% of developers account for only 5% of revenue! Crazy!
