Is Spotify using web browsing history to track me?

2 点作者 cesher超过 4 年前
Alright, so Apple finally shipped their privacy “nutrition labels” on iOS and I’ve been checking the few apps that I have installed.
I checked Spotify’s and was surprised to see that under “Data Used to Track You”, they have “Browsing History” as something they have access to.
According to the links that Apple has put at the top so users understand what this all means, Spotify actually has access to my browsing history. Is this actually true? Am I totally misunderstanding this?! Why does Spotify need my browsing history to play music?!
... I love Spotify as a service, I’ve had a family plan for years, and even if they are not selling my data, I don’t see why they need this and quite frankly leaves me feeling a bit violated if true.

I'd like a better definition of "browsing history" from Apple. Currently it's: "Information about content the user has viewed that is not part of the app, such as websites" and I'd understand that as "has access to browsing history of wkwebview or uiwebview embedded in the app".

I only use the Web Player not a native app. A web app does not have access to your browsing history.

if you have to ask, you already know the answer.
