This was disappointing and naive. McKinsey is a private company that markets itself to c-level folks. What possible benefit would they have in becoming more open and transparent as the article suggests. They are going through a brief and unwanted period of public exposure. What they want to do is get out of the spotlight, and go back to a state where they only ones paying attention to them are prospective clients and aspiring consultants. The article acts like they are subject to the same whims as public companies who make their money from advertising. For better or worse, they are (metaphorically) mercenaries, and just like the real ones, are responsible to their clients and staff only, not to twitter, the media, etc. Their best policy is to fade back out of the spotlight.
