"GitHub, f*ck your name change" https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26487854 currently has 3113 points (highest voted I've seen in a long time) and is only 16 hours old, however it is on page 2, why is this? Maybe because of the title?
HN deranks posts when the comment/vote ratio gets higher, because a high number of comments usually indicates flamewarring. For better or worse, this is applied to everything; no, this particular post is not being suppressed, there have been more incendiary titles sitting for longer on the front page.
