Then again, I tried freelancing in my own last year and it was hard to get clients without a track record. The advice I was given by some friends who have had more success is to work, use those years to build up contacts, and launch with a set of potential clients already in place (and beware of the employment contracts forbidding you from working with or for people after you leave your company)
