Over a decade ago prominent members of the Lojban language community enthusiatically pushed use of SuperMemo over other solutions (the majority based on the Leitner box metaphor). In particular, they recommended the edition for Palm instead of desktop SuperMemo (and recommended running it under a Palm emulator).
Not embracing Anki was a combination of its relatively little popularity then, and disinterest for Japanese-themed artifacts. Either by chance, or destiny, this prompted a direct landing on the implementation that is on a league of its own, still 30+ years after its creation.
Moving a substantial amount of material from Anki to SuperMemo is definitely a nice problem NOT to have. The submission extolls the value of incremental learning in formulation and engagement, but doesn't give more direct pointers to address the transfer problem. For those who do have this problem, the following article gets into the details[1], coupled with experienced shortcomings and reasons for doing so [2].
[1] https://www.masterhowtolearn.com/2018-10-28-how-i-moved-my-a...
[2] https://www.masterhowtolearn.com/2018-10-28-why-i-switched-t...
