I remember doing some windows 95 install from floppies in a lab in high school; but I'm not quite sure why. I remember we also wired the lab for Netware file sharing with thin net; I would think we would want to install from the network share to avoid so many floppy disks, but maybe the server was too slow for that to work well, or install from network didn't work, or we installed windows before we got networked up to the other room (went through the drop ceiling in the hallway). Or we have a bunch of kids with nothing better to do, and a bunch of surplus Banyan vines disks to overwrite.<p>I think the floppy disk count differed depending on if you had a Microsoft mastered floppy, or made a floppy set yourself.
