The Daily Mail raging against "having your cake and eating it" is to precious not to savor.<p>In regard to the league itself, the big clubs wanted all the profits for years now. They want something like the US national conferences where there are only a few dozen teams that mix and match every year and have divided the market between themselves. They want to cherry pick from the other teams because they'd have the bigger money reserves and therefore would have an advantage in negotiations. They might create a global market but it will destroy the local leagues.
