What's Next for Visual Studio?

I think the best thing that could happen for Visual Studio is for Microsoft to acquire JetBrains and build Rider into a REAL cross-platform Visual Studio replacement while letting legacy Visual Studio wither and die. Oh... and adding drop-dead-simple "deploy to Azure" options in the rest of the JetBrains products would be a coup too.
