2B+ people have access to Google Sheets.
7M+ businesses are paying for Google Workspaces.
60%+ of US classrooms use Google Classrooms which evangelizes their spreadsheet.
Still, countless companies come out with plans to kill the spreadsheet or replace them.
We get it, we love building big things from scratch, too.
However, there's more value to be had to do the hard work to solve for an elegant solution within the legacy eco-system.
We created SPINE with the assumption that it's better to empower users within Google Sheets and Excel rather than compel them to learn a new tool for a few new features or more modern look-and-feel.
Remove all unnecessary friction, and the biggest is saying "go somewhere else."
With that "meet the customers where they are" mindset, we built SPINE for Google Sheets to supercharge Google Sheets with new features. The first feature, and what we're excited to share, today is our simple data integration utility within Google Sheets.
*SPINE for Google Sheets automatically synchronizes data from databases and work tools (think: Salesforce, Google Analytics, or Stripe) directly in Sheets. We, first, sync everything to our cloud data store so users can select subsets to surface in any Spreadsheet.*
We plan to release more features over time to augment the Google Sheets experience and enable new use cases.
We wanted to share things as they are and discuss new use cases or features you'd like to see.
At the present time, users need to be able to build reports or tools on their own. However, we're actively working to enable a platform atop GSheets so our community can stop rebuilding the same tools and models, time and time again.
Inspired by the success of the open source coding communities, we're bringing together Google Sheets power users to create extensible configurable apps that SPINE can help install on top of a spreadsheet and imported data.
Tell us what you think!
