I have been observing prices on amazon.co.uk and was expecting prices to increase slightly as a one off from the Brixt due to changes on how things are done between the UK and EU especially on EU imported products or ones shipped from EU directly.
Recently I have been reviewing the items I buy frequently like vitamins and creams from Amazon some of which are made in the UK, I have notices their prices have increasing every 1-2 month, that one product jumped 42% from £6.00 to £9.99 over a 2 months period. This is not a who off jump it has been incremental and many products have become expensive in similar manner. I don't want to rush to conclusions, but is this Amazon becoming expensive as it gets larger and sellers feel like they cemented their positions?
My thoughts are this is related to Brixit? or COVID? or Supply chain constraints? or inflation ? or all of the above?
I haven't been tracking other sites so I don't know if they went through a similar price hike in such a short time.
> My thoughts are this is related to Brixit?
Do you mean Brexit?
It probably is. Have you made comparison with other stores, either in-person or on-line ?
Btw this is one of the consequences of brexit. Importing goods now takes more time and more work, and the price of those are incorporated in the final price of products.
