The study was based on UK Biobank data so the term &quot;cheese&quot; probably means &quot;cheeses that Brits eat&quot; which may or may not be similar to &quot;cheeses that the French eat&quot; (which I prefer [the cheeses, not the term]). I wonder if cheese, in this case, is a proxy for &quot;not eating a low-fat diet&quot;? Since low-fat eating usually (but not necessarily) involves eating more &quot;low fat&quot; sugary, processed items, seed oils, and refined carbs, than a higher fat diet would. Again, on average, not to say you can&#x27;t eat a healthy low-fat diet. Just that many people tend to avoid fat almost as a reflex, without understanding that some of the alternatives are much worse for them.
