Can we be real for a minute here? Please?<p>I've been around the internet controversy block a few times over as many decades, and I <i>really</i> feel like there's a missing piece of the puzzle after reading the article. In particular, I'm only aware of three fundamental reasons for a major web platform to enact such a broad ban on lewdness:<p>1) Payment processors don't like it<p>2) Advertisers don't like it<p>3) Some government with jurisdiction over a desired market doesn't like it<p>Yet none of these are mentioned in the article. There are just some laughable platitudes about "safety". Just to be abundantly clear, we're talking about a ban that was obviously very carefully crafted to cover female but not male pokies. I think its safe to say that this is not based on some high-minded principle. So can anyone seriously explain what the hell is going on?
