I have ~6 years of total IT/Cloud experience, most of that in actual consulting (not House Of Lies consulting). I have a lot of experience with strategy, engineering, architecture, evangelism, etc. I consider myself to have both a technical understanding of security and a very deep managerial/non-technical understanding.
I would like to get a leadership/management position in a FAANG company, particularly Facebook and Netflix. Not really interested in working at Google or Amazon at all.
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any advice on finding these jobs? Are they even publicly listed? Do I need to talk to an internal recruiter and ask? Thanks a lot in advance!
> I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any advice on finding these jobs? Are they even publicly listed?
Don't overthink it. The companies you mentioned have websites that list job openings. Start applying.
Meanwhile, read up on their interview process and start preparing. Don't expect to just wing it and land a FAANG job. Also, keep your expectations realistic. It's fine to apply for managerial jobs at FAANG, of course, but those are some of the most competitive jobs in the world. Unless you have a an absolutely stunning track record in those 6 years of experience, your best bet is likely to be applying for IC roles and moving up later. Getting your foot in the door should be the focus, not getting the exact dream job you had in mind on day 1.
