I imagine most people who follow HN have heard of Ken Shirriff by now. An ex-Googler, his hobby is reverse-engineering microprocessors and other ICs -- just for fun, apparently. I guess you could call him a hacker without an agenda. I use an RSS reader to keep track of his blog.
