Yeah, it’s unseasonably hot here in Idaho, which is arguably on the edge of the PNW. Gonna be 109 by next week.

I've lived in Redmond, WA for over 20 years, and the heat acclimatization gained from living in Indiana and North Carolina is long gone. I'm going to try to get that 20 mile run in on Saturday as early as I can, but with an overnight low of 70F I'll probably still melt. That heat pump purchased 18 months ago is starting to look like money well-spent, though. Unfortunately, many/most other folks don't have any form of A/C or cooling. Who needs it when you spend most of the summer wishing it would warm up a bit? :-)
I was going to say that I don't recall ever seeing 100F in Seattle, but I guess we did in 2009.

Recommend going to the weather.gov site directly and clicking on the US map in the regions with “excessive heat watch” or “excessive heat warning”…basically the PNW. Worth knowing about the site anyway, and the NWS presents both raw data and relevant information in clear and actionable formats.
PS: wonder if your town got as hot or cold as you thought? The local weather page under weather.gov reports hourly temperatures for the last 36 hours.

Predicted to have a nighttime low of 74 degrees F, so the strategy of cooling the house with fans overnight is going to be less effective.

The big stores had all sold out of air conditioners earlier this week.
Folks are checking into hotel rooms just for the AC.
