I would like to know the details of how this was reclaimed. Was it frozen at an exchange? Or are they not going to release the details because a) it was a DoJ sponsored affiliate of DarkSide i.e. an informant, b) it was seized at a mixer run by the FBI or some other law enforcement group, or c) it was retrieved in a retaliatory hack.<p>All of which would be interesting to know as to how they intend to finght these groups. Of course the group would know which of these, or at least have a good idea of which it was, depending on how they lost access to their funds. On that basis I cant see any reason to keep the knowledge from the public as they cybercriminals are likely to share that info amongst themselves anyway, so the secrecy aspect is lost once the method is used.
