I've attended several re:Invent conferences in the past and I really liked most of them. However, re:Invent has gotten so large that it's almost impossible to navigate. You really expect me to get value from this along with 50,000 other people spread across 10 hotels in Las Vegas?
This article focuses on what AWS could do in this time of "pandemic" but I think it's a larger vision of what they could do for all future re:Invent conferences. I would love to be able to have a tour guide walk a group of us through some live breakout sessions. Gather people in small groups (100 - 200 people) and all watch the same video feed and chat. Something like watch a movie with family on Disney+[0] or Plex[1]. Or do something like a raid in WoW; Tuesday @ 11PT we are going to go deep on QuickSight!
Hell, they could probably even charge for it. A small fee ($100) might make it a bit more limited and keep griefers out.
[0] https://help.disneyplus.com/csp?id=csp_article_content&sys_k...
