I think this is a pretty common domain grab for trademark holders. For example, see aolsucks.com: <a href="http://www.whois.net/whois/aolsucks.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.whois.net/whois/aolsucks.com</a>

This is indeed a pretty common strategy to protect a brand.
