We could say, the internet has enabled us to tap vast amount of information. I’d love to discuss ideas for amplifying human knowledge from these informations. What would be the tools, process?
For advanced note taking, you can look towards something like Zettelkasten (https://zenkit.com/en/blog/a-beginners-guide-to-the-zettelka...)
However, after multiple tries of in-depth note taking, I found it unfruitful and much more effort than it was worth.
Edit: I think I found it unfruitful because my goal switched from learning effectively to taking nice notes - they are not one and the same. I think a lot of people forget this.
In order to learn properly, we need to get back to basics. The new methods of learning such as digital note taking are poor proxies for the real thing.
True learning results in understanding a topic with the ability to recall and argue in favour or against an opinion. The best way to do this is simple (but not easy): Read and write.
Discard any 'knowledge hacks' that are going around. Go back to old fashioned study. Pick a problem to solve, read books about the problem and write about how you solved it.
