Healthy food mandate is a terrible idea. The main reason masks and vaccines are mandated is to protect others, because when you don’t vaccinate or wear a mask you spread the disease and overwhelm hospitals. Moreover the mask mandates are mostly backfiring anyways.
People would never allow a healthy food mandate. If you push and force people to eat healthy and exercise they’ll double down on junk food and sedentarism, just like people are resisting masks and vaccines.
In fact it’s already happening in the southern US, where “southern pride” = chicken fried steak, mayonnaise, red meat, sticks of butter in every meal. Obese people who are made fun of for ignoring their health, make obesity and health ignorance their identity and then go out of their way to make their health worse. I know there is
healthy food and ways to workout in southern culture, but i never hear about them.
You can’t force somebody to lose weight - you can starve them, but as soon as they have access to food they’ll put the weight back. When they make the choice to lose weight, you can help them and make it easier for them, e.g. by not buying junk food. But you can’t force them. We need healthy food and exercise incentives, not mandates.
