I've had this same dream, exciting to see it being worked on, but I think you're missing some essential features on the social side.<p>The big difference between this and Google search (other than being way smaller) is curation. All links are added intentionally by a person, not crawled by a robot.<p>So lean into that intention, give more for people to do with their choice to add/visit a link.<p>Add a landing page/blurb to each link with user-addable tags, links and maybe comments. It'll let people do more with their attention, and be another reason to add a bookmark (to see what other people think/ have linked it to, if it already exists on the site)<p>I think theres a huge untapped market for bookmark+, the place people go AFTER finding something online.<p>Edit: Decentralization is great, but basically no one cares about it when it comes to actually using a site. Either it's a good experience or not, the only thing decentralization adds is a vague promise you won't get screwed by the devs. Theres always going to be an imbalance of power between creators and users though, even if it's just in time and knowledge.
