We really need to change the landscape at Alameda Naval Base, which is defunct and has a lot of opportunity for innovation to be created there. A lot of open space which could easily be used for vertical farming, Talapia Farming and Tiny Home Communities.<p>Years ago I was working with the city council to address zoning laws for plots of 'single-family' home zones - which required only one dwelling (as defined by one common main entrance) on a ~2500 SF lot. Upon which you could easily put more than one not-so-tiny-home.<p>But the city would not go back on their zoning requirements, just as they wouldn't go back on their decision to give full rights and authority over all broad band to comcast and outlawed municipal networks.
