I find this confirming that all tech companies lie and push the narrative. Their explanation is that Theranos did it more than others which I think is true. But there was not a qualitative difference, just difference in scale, like in an example of speeding. The point that companies usually don't lie is not true – even Tesla lies about their autopilot capabilities and have failed to achieve the promised goals. The difference is of course that Tesla has a good product but Theranos never had it.<p>Also the attempt to say that Theranos was not a tech company is baffling. What else would you call creating advanced medical diagnostic devices? It was a specific but a tech nevertheless.
