McDonald’s enters strategic partnership with IBM to automate drive-thru lanes

Why wouldn’t they just weatherproof their indoor kiosks? Maybe I’m just a Luddite but I don’t see why AI is necessary to tell someone to pour me a coffee and give me a total to tap a payment card against and go on with my day.
