I'm sure lots of websites are already doing stuff like this to prevent ad-blocking (and tracker-blocking), most likely proxy-ing a REST API for the actual data extraction when they can't get enough from the server logs.<p>Sure, it's possible some upstanding websites are doing it for their privacy-respecting telemetry needs to improve their product, but -let's face it- most do it to sell as much user data as possible to Google and Facebook.<p>No, no-script is not a real option, because 90% of the web is broken without JavaScript. Privacy sure feels like a losing battle these days :(
