Canonic Browser: open-source QML Browser

It loads but is totally unresponsive on my iPad.

Pretty interesting resource! In my tiny bit of spare moments I&#x27;ve been trying to learn QML&#x2F;QT Quick&#x2F;Kirigami in hopes of someday developing Linux mobile apps on the side. I&#x27;m not so sure how I feel about QML yet. Having some slightly bigger but more complex examples like this could be really helpful.<p>About this specific browser: one odd behavior I noticed is that it changes the scroll behavior. On macOS it&#x27;s surprising since it uses natural scroll by default. Dunno if that&#x27;s an option to change, but it might be a nice tweak.

Please don&#x27;t make the landing page for your website your gargantuan web app that launches with &quot;downloading and compiling... (x% complete). Use a simple lightweight landing page that works on all browsers and tells me what it is I&#x27;ll be launching, and give me the option to launch it or not.<p>Even having launched this and having played with the live editor, I&#x27;m still unclear what the rationale is for reimplementing a web browser UI as well.

Frame pacing is all over the place in Firefox. In Chromium it&#x27;s more responsive but the main thread consumes a whopping 260MB of ram compared to around ~20MB of a regular html5 page of similar complexity according to Chromium&#x27;s taskmanager.

This is not a web browser, just a QML browser.

Canonical (canonical.com) business includes KDE&#x2F;Qt, so the name Canonic (canonic.com) is a little confusing.

Doesn&#x27;t load at all on Android
