Me thinks this is because eggs substitute for even more harmful stuff, not because eggs are particularly healthy for the heart.<p>They are pure cholesterol after all, and if the sample is so big as the one in the paper you are bound to find people whose cholesterol changes due to diet (even if slightly).<p>At the end of the day the diet that has proven itself in the real world is the Okinawa diet.<p>Okinawa AKA the Isle of the immortals:<p>Lots of fish, almost no rice, no meat, lots of veggies, and fruit of all kinds.<p>So it's essentially a pescatarian Keto diet.<p>Okinawa diet + intermittent fasting is the best we can come up with in terms of cardiovascular health and starving off cancer growth, I think
