The problem with writing fiction on Substack

I’ve put a lot of thought into how the production of literary fiction could be adapted to the 21st century’s modes of consumption. Adding a seasonal feature for fiction might help. The chapters of a book would be available at the same points annually and then would become unavailable towards the end of the cycle. The coordination of readers in a way that is both asynchronous and synchronous could, in this fashion, give the readers of any given flight a sense that they are not alone in their interest in the work. If the reader’s discovery is entirely asynchronous, they may feel that the work lacks relevance. A loss of book culture is not totally fungible. The delivery of writing on a device that allows for ready diversion creates a complex of hazards that no amount of design can account for, or so it seems to me.
