The good news, I think, is that if you ever <i>were</i> a reader, a little bit of calm patience with yourself can get you back in the thick of things. Most of us have, I think, developed short attention spans, so your mind will fight you when you start to read longer works -- in much the same way that your mind will fight you when you try to cut back on your coffee/caffeine consumption. But persevere; you'll be reading and loving it and looking forward to it at other times before you know it!
