It's exactly like that on the Windows store.<p>The Windows store is locked down completely on my work laptop and I don't miss it.<p>The database for the Windows store gets corrupted periodically on my laptop making it impossible to and I rarely miss it. Whenever I've complained to Microsoft about it they tell me "create a new account and waste a day of productivity setting up all the software I actually use". I tell them "I know there's a procedure to rebuild the Windows Store database because it gets rebuilt and fixed whenever I install a feature upgrade -- tell me how to start it!"<p>HP used to make me install a program to use my scanner from the Windows Store which was why I used to ask Microsoft to fix the store. I got an Epson inkjet printer for which all the software is ordinary Windows software. Sent the HP printer to the reuse center.<p>At some point HP and other co's are going to get the hint and drop the Windows Store.
