Horrible, throwing another individual into the inferno to keep the hungry Uber engine topped off. I definitely never noticed any mention of variable-rates post-ride-completion in their ToS.<p>Between Uber and AirBnB (the worst IME), not sure what more they could do to signal how greedy and soulless they are when it comes to injecting and enforcing customer-hostile bits into the 10-50 pages of fine print you clicked "yes" on after skimming it for 2 seconds (if that).<p>Gig economies are remarkably consistent in this regard.<p>The good news is it only took me once with AirBnButts to learn my $3,000 lesson. Never again, it's worse than craigslist.
