Ask HN: What's the easiest/lowest pressure tech job you know of?

Hi! I've had a few programming jobs over the last 2/3 years(mostly at startups, and also for one Fortune 500 company as a contractor), and I really struggle mentally, I can't take the pressure of most regular programming jobs, the deadlines, the meetings, the hierarchy, the constant need to stay on top of new tech, it's really burning me out.
I'm looking for something less stressful/demanding, but still in tech. I'm OK with earning less, do you have any idea of what kind of jobs I could look for? Thanks

Make a list of what you want in a job rather than what you don't, then you can narrow down the search.
Now is a great time to find a job and I wouldn't limit your options to just "Tech" companies as there are plenty of other sectors that need technical people and offer a more balanced work environment due to the fact they are not solely "Tech" companies.
You can literally throw a dart at a list of sectors and find a tech job currently advertised.
If I had to make a choice from the plethora of jobs out there, I would look for something in the natural resource sector like large cap mining companies, these places still offer careers that lives can be planned around and the burn out rates are much lower.
*Edit*
Also you might not want to say your last statement to potential employers, I get your point about being OK for earning less in exchange for lower pressure but it comes across like you value your work less than that of others and an employer doesn't know any different!
Far better to make the argument that the work you do is so good that you expect a more accommodating work environment.
