Memecoin Faithful Aren’t Laughing Anymore with Prices Crashing

The Venn diagram of “memecoin faithful” and people who want to make easy money is almost a perfect circle.

Earlier today I was reading about the apparent creator of coins, in about 625BC, king Alyattes of Lydia. They were made of electrum (a gold &amp; silver alloy), of which Wikipedia reports &quot;The weight of either precious metal could not just be weighed so they contained an imprint that identified the issuer who guaranteed the value of its contents&quot;.<p>Those were simpler times, I guess. Our far greater sophistication means we no longer need to bite or weigh or see an imprint on coins to test their true worth.

Speaking only for myself, I would like to create my own memecoin(s) for family members. But I would also want to ensure that they could never be traded for anything of real value.<p>IMO, the point of a true memecoin is to have something that literally has zero value, not even worth any amount of paper it can be printed on. But it can still stand for something that is entertaining to me, like our cats when they do funny things.
