If I set my cruise control to 45 in a 45 mph zone and then cruise through a section that is 30 but still maintain 45 then I shouldn't get at traffic ticket?
If I set my car to automatically choose the speed based on map data and the map data does not know about the transition from 45 to 30 based on a map error then I shouldn't get a traffic ticket?
At the moment, if I set a machine in motion I am generally liable for any effects. It is similar to the "pilot in command" in aircraft and boats.

Of course they shouldn't. The programmers are the drivers, the car owner is just a passenger.
