I imagine iPadOS mainly needs more “pro” users. Apple sells iPads as consumer devices for content consumption: videos, gaming, reading, email, etc. The “pros” who want to edit video or develop software on iPads remain a small niche market, already served by Apple’s desktop and laptop computers. At every iteration of iPadOS the tech press breaks out a pile of articles describing professional writers struggling with their workflow, but few people write blogs and newspaper articles for a living. Apple serves their market, and those of us who would like to use an iPad as a laptop replacement are not a big slice of that market.
