I can't stand these emails and I get _a lot_ of them.
All the emails follow the same pattern:
- Tech startups
- One initial email with them being very impressed with my background
- two "gentle nudge" followups
- All the links are prefixed with "znsrc.com"
Looking at the original email, I can't seem to find what company is hosting my information on their platform so I can ask them to remove it.
Sometime ago I did ask getrocket.com to remove me from their list. They claimed to remove me. However they followed nearly the same pattern, so I have to wonder if they got better at hiding their tracks and didn't end up removing me.
Due to the spammy nature of these emails, I would never consider a job opportunity from any of them.
I was hoping some HN folks might have some insight on who this business is so I can opt out.
They are all using nylas recruiting software. Reply to the third or fourth mail asking for what skills they need and you will be a boilerplate "Shortly after sending you this email, We have shortlisted some candidates and they have moved to final rounds. In order to be respectful of your time, we will not be proceeding with your candidature."
https://www.nylas.com/industries/recruiting
I wish I knew. I've noticed recently the sequence count has been upped to 4 emails, thus inundating my inbox further. They are clearly automated, yet there is never an unsubscribe link.
Perhaps we need a service that will send an automated
barrage of emails directly to a recruiter to remove an email address from their system. If enough people start using said unsubscribe service, recruiters might start to take the hint.
I've noticed the same pattern but with one major difference. They are sending the emails to two email addresses, mine and my sister's. Both in the "To:" field so I can see who received the email. Somehow our emails got linked in their database and now she's constantly receiving recruiter spam on my behalf.
Not sure how they got linked, other than the same last name we have very little in common. We work in completely different industries and different job roles.
Really wish there was an easy mechanism to correct the mistake though.
The ones I see are not the same specific patterns as yours but are automated. I listed in my linkedin that I am retired and then listed the hobby I would be working on. Now I am getting automated inquiries from companies related to that hobby. I am half tempted to change my listed hobbies to something silly to see what happens.
I have no idea how to change the behavior of recruiters using automation in this manor.
Some emails have unsubscribe links and I use them. Occasionally, I respond and ask them to take me off their list. Also, I don't let it bother me because it sucks worse when no emails come in.
I'm getting spammed via email (in the past it went to linked in but some company leaked my "real" email). But no znsrc.com in the emails.
