My infant son was born with Muenke syndrome which caused craniosynostosis - a problem mentioned in this article. You can see several pictures of him pre and post surgery on my twitter account @bketelsen. The surgery was absolutely terrifying, and he still has the distracting rods in place. They come out in two weeks. It seems to have been very successful in creating enough space for his brain. Without the surgery he would have begun to have seizures some time in the next year or so because his brain had no room to grow in his skull.<p>Interesting to come across this article here. So few people have heard of distraction or seen someone with active distraction happening.
