Reminds me a bit of <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_change_dump" rel="nofollow">https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_change_dump</a> which allows for tracking time series information of states and signals in a device.<p>VCD however is mostly for FPGA or logic analyser dumps instead of sensor data.
