Hey guys! Sorry for the loud title.
My friend and I made a workout timer that is different from others. We have a glowing RGB band around the device, which helps you see it from a distance and when you look at it from glance.
With this you can avoid beeping sounds which annoyed surrounding people. But the timer is visible enough to make it easy to read the workout mode.
We also made a simple interface with just one big button. And made some other nice features, which you can see in our video.
We own a small hardware workshop with 2 paid workers, where we build flashlights for another project, so we decided to sell the timers right away and make it there. Timers are now made from a case from another timer (we just bought it online) and a 3D print. Despite this "hacky" build it turned out pretty good looking in our opinion.
In fact our reference was the timer "Timebirds", which raised over $1 million on Kickstarter. So timers seemed like a good niche. But they ended up making a really bad device that got trashed on YouTube.
So what do you think? Would such a device be useful to you or people you know?
