Despite the punchy title (as usual), this is a good and nuanced discussion of the issue. Highly recommended.<p>Personally, I feel that the "opposition to opposition" is less of a problem than Gelman thinks, mainly because (a) these people will die out (literally, at some point), and (b) I believe (and hope) that professionalization in science is a ratchet. Once the knowledge is out (e.g. on power, replication crisis etc.), it doesn't go back in the genie's bottle.
