Time protection: the missing OS abstraction (2019)

There hasn't been nearly enough acolyer posts going on recently, thanks! What a master of looking for interesting papers & research & telling a good story about them.

Very interesting, I thought that Spectre made L4 irrelevant but apparently it can hardened with no/little performance loss depending on the HW.

I'm wondering...wouldn't asynchronous CPUs help here? Maybe even with some timing noise introduced on purpose.
