Ask HN: How Can I Spot Unsafe Chrome Extensions?

1 点作者 nonoesp大约 3 年前
Reading Spatie's internal security guidelines, I came across a recommendation to "not use any browser extensions that can track typed keys, passwords or browser history," and I'm wondering whether there's a known workflow to report potential security risks originated by installed Chrome extensions.

If security guidelines say that you&#x27;d be more secure without an ad blocker than with one, then you should probably find a new set of guidelines to follow.

I kinda avoid extensions (except for a good ad blocker) because they cause bugs, slowdowns and other trouble.<p>Reminds me of the early 00’s when every baby boomer had 80% of the screen area taken up by the Bonzi Buddy and the Yahoo Toolbar and 15 other toolbars…. Don’t be that guy.
