Plaid expands into identity,income verification,fraud prevention,account funding

Wow. I truly hate having to use plaid. This is disappointing. I can’t think of a system I hate more that gets forced down my throat. I have zero faith that they hold my data safely or that it won’t be stolen or sold. I actually will stop doing business with places that use plaid so this is assuredly gonna make my life harder.

This move is essential for Plaid to survive. Stripe just recently moved into Plaid's core business and Stripe are increasingly becoming a one-stop shop for all company needs that involve money. If you already have a Stripe account for payments/subscriptions, you're more likely to try out another one of their services. To compete, Plaid also have to increase the value of their ecosystem.
