Isn't this supposed to be impossible?
Any geek who first reads about quantum entanglement, or read a sci-fi novel using an "Ansible", immediately thinks about using the effect for faster than light communication. And then physicists will patiently explain why it is impossible because of reasons that are too complex for most anyone to understand having to do with observation.
Additionally, I also thought that the effect could be explained by comparing it to having two differently colored marbles, choosing one randomly not looking at it, then sending the other far away. Once you look into your hand, you will "instantly" know the color of the other marble, but no data has been transferred.
So... Apparently neither is correct. It is possible, and the analogy is wrong? Ok.

Be gentle with me: wasn't there a link between 2 banks (?) in maybe the Netherlands based on quantum cryptography decades ago? Perhaps my addled brain misremembers
