The Computer Knows All"<p>The entire enterprise seems at base an effort to shift responsibility, specifically blame, to some moral-free edifice.<p>Perhaps we could admit that the codes, while good guidelines, are merely that. The purpose of the structure and its fitness are both the ongoing decisions of its residents and users.<p>We can have all the codes we want, but if nobody says "hey this is wrong" when the concrete is crumbling and the building is sinking, they don't help. They just give us a way to shift the blame for inaction.
