Hi HN,
Zwift is a cycling/running virtual world game where you connect to a smart trainer so you can ride your bike indoors when it’s raining outside (and much more!)
The game has a number of worlds with fixed routes that you can ride but after a while that gets a bit boring.
Fortunately there is also a free-roam mode where you can control your direction by pressing a button to go left/straight/right.
But that’s a bit tricky when you’re riding hard and it’s easy to miss a turn…
So I thought: how hard can it be to automate that so I can build my own routes?
Out of this RoadCaptain was born!
With RoadCaptain Route Builder you can visually create a route by clicking segments on a map.
The RoadCaptain Runner then uses that route to interact with Zwift and controls the turns you’re making in-game.
With the latest release the app is now cross-platform and available for macOS and Windows (Linux _almost_ works) which has been a fun journey to get there.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
